Breath Practices
When someone suggested a breath practice to me, I looked at them and said, “I know how to breathe; I’ve been breathing my whole life.” I was wrong. Breath practice is an often overlooked but essential addition to our daily routines. Coach B, Drew, and Katie discuss how conscious and intentional respiration can increase our awareness of the mind, body, and physical environment. In addition to providing numerous health benefits, such as reducing stress and fighting illness, regular breath practice can also promote good posture and balance, helping us maintain proper alignment throughout our day-to-day activities. With commitment and dedication, we can use breathwork to recognize patterns that inform decisions about lifestyle changes that help us lead healthier lives. Empowered with insight into the effects of each breath's ripple through the body, we can cultivate a connectedness between ourselves and the world around us.
